Althea Alquitran, MD

Dr. Althea Alquitran is a comprehensive ophthalmologist dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. She combines clinical excellence with a compassionate approach, ensuring each patient feels heard, respected, and confident in their care. Dr. Alquitran is experienced in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, including cataracts, dry eye disease, glaucoma, ocular inflammation, and other disorders affecting vision and eye health.

Dr. Alquitran earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), followed by her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she served as a chief resident. She is proficient in medical Spanish, allowing her to communicate with and care for a diverse patient population.

Dr. Alquitran is excited to serve the patients of New Eyes and the greater Las Vegas community. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them achieve their best possible vision. Outside of medicine, she enjoys singing, dancing, staying active through a variety of sports, and exploring all the amazing food and entertainment Las Vegas has to offer.

During her medical training, Dr. Alquitran was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Golden Humanism Honor Society. She also served as the chief resident during her ophthalmology residency at Brown University.
